SUMMARY:De-escalation & Handling Street Harrassment and Bullying
DESCRIPTION:Register Now \nThis three hour workshop provides participants with physical and non-physical self defense skills. What are your choices when confronted with harassment? How do you safely deescalate someone who maybe unsafe or posing a personal threat either in a private or public setting. We begin each work shop with a listening session that prioritizes  the safety concerns  of the participants and guides the topics to be covered during the workshop.  We understand that the topic of self-defense can be triggering for anyone who has experienced trauma from  bullying\, harassment\, or assault; therefore\, we prioritize self-care and creating a space that is safe and inclusive to learning. We offer a range of topics such as self-care\, deescalation; assertive communication\, street smarts; and physical  and non physical self-defense skills.  Sessions are led by facilitators who have  years of experience teaching self-defense  to people of all backgrounds\, genders  and ages. Workshops incorporate best practices in teaching and facilitation and include role plays and scenarios. Recommended for adults and youth 14 years and above.
